Our Ranch

Our Ranch

The Sitz Angus story begins in Nebraska when Will and Frieda Sitz purchased a handful of registered Angus heifers in 1923. As the herd grew in numbers, Bob became involved in raising cattle. In 1959, Bob and wife Donna purchased the Harrison Ranch. Bob had an eye for cattle, consistently breeding for the best and selecting the type of cattle that would perform for the commercial cow man. With great success, the Sitz Angus reputation quickly grew throughout Montana and the nation. In 1997, Sitz Angus Ranch went through a major expansion with the purchase of the Dillon Ranch and a ranch in the "Big Hole" area. This expansion allowed Sitz to expand our cowherd and offer more options for our customers. Today the Sitz family remains dedicated to the original principals that promoted this herd of registered Angus to national and global prominence - a practical, predictable and profitable program.
